And a government speechwriting opportunity

An opportunity for graduate students and seniors:

We are looking to hire two graduate students to serve as speechwriters at the U.S. Department of Transportation. One position is with our Federal Railroad Administration (FRA); the other is with our Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Both positions would involve writing speeches and talking points for the Administrator (the leader of the agency) and other members of senior leadership when necessary. Speechwriters in this position also typically ghostwrite blog posts, emails to staff and stakeholders, op-eds, and other messages.
Our plan is to hire the students through the Pathways Program’s Internship Program. The new hire would start off as an intern – but to be clear, it’s really only in name only. This is a paid position, and he or she, upon graduation, would earn a new title and a higher-paid permanent position. This is a career position in the federal government, not a political appointment – and we would prefer to hire a student currently enrolled in a graduate program that enables them to work full-time.
